Queens

The foundation queens are crucial to the success of a cattery.  A foundation queen must conform to the standard, healthy, well socialized, and able to deal with potential stress in a multi-cat environment.  Queens who possess these type of characteristics, tend to pass this onto their offspring and heavily influence the next generation.

Many Siberian mothers birth and rear their young without interference or help. They also set the tone for how their kittens interact with people, cats and other pets.  It can take several months to develop the life skills every kitten needs for the rest of their lives.  That is one of the reasons we keep our kittens until they are fourteen weeks.  Mothers teach patience by weaning their young, they set boundaries by calling to them when they wander too far; they demonstrate acceptable play by discipline & punishment.  We are continually impressed by our Siberians mothers and their ability to pass on the skills they will need for life.

About Us

IndigoMoon Smilla's Sense of Smoke

Black smoke

Resident Queen

Smilla is from our own breeding.  Like her mother, she trills and likes to talk to us.  From her father, she inherited his beautiful strong, thick coat and heavy build.  We are happy with the combination of genes produced in our sweet Smilla and quite proud of kittens she is producing.

She has the most beautiful smoke.   If you part her hair down her back, you would think we have a skunk living amongst us.  She is built like a tank, with huge paws, a full rounded muzzle and the sweetest face.  Smilla is a first generation colorpoint carrier.
