Welcome to the wonderful world of Siberians. My husband and I began our cattery in the spring of 2000. We reside in central Arkansas on nine acres with our Shelties, dairy cows and a passel of Siberian Cats. We have always loved cats. Our fascination with pedigreed cats began when we attended a cat show in 1998. We were mesmerized by the different varieties: short hair, long hair and some in between. Some of them looked identical to pets we had as children, except not so nearly clean and polished. |

We later found Siberians online in 2000 and fell in love. They are a contrast in terms, while they have some of the sweetest faces, they also have bodies built like well toned warriors. They are the football players of the cat world, heavy, well muscled, short cobby bodies, thick necks, barrel-chested, round eyes, round ears and a well rounded muzzle. Purrsonality-wise they are unlike any other cat we have ever known, with their unique trills and quick intelligence. They have an unusual characteristic that separates themselves from other breeds. Siberians actually butt heads like two arguing fellows who can't see eye to eye. But, to them it's a form of greeting and acceptance. It's ingrained into them and I have yet to meet a Siberian who doesn't recognize the unwritten sign of friendship. |
